Fun Attractions for Kids Water Country During the summer days, no one with kids can resist a trip to Water Country, the largest New England water park. For thrill seekers or those who want to relax, this park is as diverse as any water park can be. With 15 different slides and pools, you can easily spend a day here. For a thrill of a roller coaster try Black Hole and Warp 8, a twisting, looping tube ride. On Double Dive Boggan, grab a mat and slide down head first. Racing Rapids and the Plunge has a 396-foot drop and 422 feet rapids. For younger children, there is Ollie Octopus, with eight arms to slide down and Pirates Lagoon, a forty foot pirate ship with slides and lots of places to explore. To be prepared bring towels, sunscreen, aqua socks or sandals, swimwear, and some cash for snacks. Don't forget to leave your jewelry in your hotel room and no floats, masks or goggles are allowed. The park is open daily from mid-June to labor day. Tugboat Alley Ride aboard "Tug Alley Too" with Captain Bob Hassold to tour the harbor. Guides discuss lighthouses, nature, and the waterfront as well as tugboat history. You can back a picnic, or order one. Six passengers can ride at a time. If your child loves to watch Theodore on PBS, your child may enjoy a visit here. All sorts of Theodore Tugboat products are on sale. There's also one of the largest arrays of tugboat model kits.
